Jake Sully is now a member of a new family that he met on Pandora. When an old enemy comes back to finish what he or she started before, Jake must work with Neytiri and the Na’vi army to protect their planet.
As soon as “Avatar” was released in 2009, it smashed box office records and earned $2.84 billion in its first week. With $2.89 billion from a re-release in China in 2021, “Avengers: Endgame” beat the previous record, but the film is expected to surpass it once again when it hits theaters in September of this year.
Avatar 2 (Avatar: The Way of Water): What’s up with the delay?
Even though the original “Avatar” film clocked in at three hours and ten minutes, audiences were left wanting more. According to Empire Magazine, the film in the future, which is roughly 5 and a half months away, will likewise clock in at nearly 3 hours. But James Cameron seems unconcerned about these long film runtimes, and he even attacked the trolls who decry them.
After introducing us to the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their children), the official synopsis states that the film will focus on their experiences as they attempt to keep each other safe, fight for their lives, and deal with the catastrophes they face.
As Cameron tells Empire, “I don’t want people grumbling about length when they sit and binge-watch [television] for eight hours.” “This section of the review is nearly complete. “The torturous three-hour film” is just giving me a break, is all I can say. There have been five one-hour programs that I have watched my kids do in a row. Getting up and going to the bathroom is perfectly acceptable. ”
