Paatal Lok: Review

Paatal Lok is loaded with strong socio-political commentary & is easily the best show to have come out of the Indian web space in a long time. Its origins give it a distinct edge. Kudos to Anushka Sharma for investing in gritty stories that strongly speak to our times. The series is showing the way ahead to good actors and good story writing. Each character from the series is doing a great job to his work. Jai deep Alhawat keeps getting better with each episode. Great story with detailing to each character backstory!! Paatal Lok is a masterpiece. It is a canvas on which you can see all colours and shades of story telling, variation of life, And their stories together. Script acting screenplay direction cinematography everything is perfect. The metaphor used is perfect. The symbolism of pataal lok, dharti lok, and swarg are deep en-rooted in our society. Jaideep Alahwat. Neeraj and other cast played their part very well. Sad to see Abhishek’s roll was very small and we wanted to see more of Tyagi.

Paatal Lok: Cast

  • Jaideep Ahlawat
  • Abhishek Banerjee
  • Neeraj Kabi
  • Gul Panag
  • Sudip Sharma

Besides the intriguing plot-line, which leaves a cliffhanger ending in almost all episodes, it’s primarily the cast that makes Paatal Lok work. It may seem a bit dicey to turn to such a dark-oriented storyline during such troubling times but if you treat it as the investigative drama that it’s meant to be, then you won’t be disappointed. Moreover, if you’re a dog lover, Paatal Lok is just what the doctor ordered.

Amazon Primes Paatal Lok is surely the best what India has ever created across any digital platform.

The performances, minute details, storytelling, background score, direction everything at it’s best. All the characters are so beautifully handled and developed. Worth spending time on it. Fresh air in the lockdown.
